DRAFT last Revised July 14, 2000

Symbolic Computation for Statistical Inference (SCSI) by D. F. Andrews and J. E. Stafford, published by Oxford University Press presents algorithms for many calculations commonly met in statistical theory and practice.  This site gives implementations of these procedures.

JAVA:  a small applet covers much of the material of Chapters 3-8. See  SCSI Java applet

The Mathematica notebooks will be released in the coming weeks. Now that the book is out, we need to allign the code with chapter and section headings. Below we now give a few chapters in their original form. These, and the rest, will be worked on over the summer.

Chapter 1. Introduction.

Chapter 2. Probability and Random Variables.

Chapter 3. Fundamental Procedures.

Chapter 4. Asymptotic Expansions.
